Inside the Process of My Elegant Fine Line Stencil Flash System Today I began building something that has been sitting in my sketchbooks and in my head for quite some time — a structured, anatomy-driven flash sheet system titled: “New England Celestials – Elegant Fine Line Stencil Collection.” This will be a complete 9-sheet flash system when finished. But before a single clean stencil sheet is finalized, there is a process — and that process matters. Where It Starts: Research Before Design Every character used in this collection — every deer, lynx, bird, rabbit, or woodland creature — was researched and studied before it was ever stylized. I do not begin with decoration. I begin with structure. I study: Bone structure Muscle flow Ear placement Hoof alignment Talon structure Beak proportions Fur direction Natural stance and posture If the foundation is wrong, the flash will be wrong.
